Okay, here's my mermaid. I did this for my graphic design class, we were supposed to design 12-month calendars (with all the months on one page). But I mean, I didn't reallllly do it for the class, I just felt like drawing a pretty mermaid. Anyway, the calendar has the background image expanded with some more black on the sides and bottom, with the months going around her in that semi-circular sort of 'u' shape, and "2007" in the upper left.

I'm really not totally happy with it, but oh well. I did the basic shapes (most of them) in Adobe Illustrator with the pen tool. That was a good thing to learn how to do, it is really very helpful to get those perfect curves. Then I exported it to photoshop and shaded/etc there.

The whole process took around 13-15 hours. Critique is appreciated, but I don't think I'll change anything now. =p
