This is a landscape; it has a weird creature in it; this is also a woman's body.
Fusing figure-portrait with landscape painting ended up being harder than I thought it might be. Hence its failed/reworked/sold status. See the other two paintings, too.
Ohh, I like the thought put into it. No painting is a total failure. You learn something even if it makes you run screaming from the room that you will never paint that again!
Thanks. I guess I'm glad I was able to re-work it to the point of not actually (for real) throwing the whole thing away. That would've just been a waste of a $20 canvas.
That is absolutely breathtaking, and incredible. I love the subtle way you rendered the woman's body in there, how it actually does look like some wasteland landscape. I really admire your painting abilities.
